Auditions are being held for a hip-hop dance group here in Lima this weekend.
A dance organization, known as JAZ ARTS, is holding auditions for those who are curious about dancing and want to express themselves through movement and the arts. The focus of this project is to encourage a healthy lifestyle and to build a higher sense of community to a diverse group of young people from the Lima area.
“I’m really keen to see more young people in the area sort of crossing all sorts of boundaries and really exploring their movement, their physicality while also trying to help them with their physical wellbeing as well as perhaps their mental wellbeing,” said Jonny Zakian, Artistic Director.
Auditions will take place this Saturday, August 18th from 1 to 4 p.m. at The Coworking Center at 220 W Market Street, Lima, OH 45801. Ages 10 to 25 are welcome to audition and for more information, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org.
JAZ ARTS have announced auditions for their professional hip-hop dance troupe, offering the opportunity for young people aged 10-25 in Ohio to learn new skills and build professional dance experience.
The troupe was founded by Jonny Zakian, a Choreographer, Dance Artist & Talent Agent who has worked with young people all over the world producing talent for TV shows like So You Think You Can Dance, Britains Got Talent as well as for international artists such as Justin Bieber, Camilla Cabello, Rita Ora and many more.
As members of JAZ ARTS, young people will be provided with high-quality dance training and performance opportunities, partaking in weekly rehearsals as well as receiving masterclasses from international guest artists. This is the chance to become part of a growing family of creative and passionate individuals whilst developing teamwork, confidence, and resilience.
Zakian explains “I am very excited to be here in Ohio and working with young people in the Lima community. My vision for JAZ ARTS Hip Hop Troupe is to produce a professional dance company, rehearsing innovative and breathtaking choreography in preparation for professional events and performances. We are already receiving bookings for the 2019 season. As part of the rehearsal process, I also aim to encourage our dancers to build a solid foundation of mental and physical wellbeing by developing resilience and managing anxiety. I am very excited to start the creative process and work with the young people to create something amazing!”
The auditions are set for August 18th 2018 at The Coworking Centre, 220 W Market St, Lima running from 1-4pm. Young people must be between 10 and 25 years of age, all abilities and experience levels are welcome to attend.
