CoWork Oberlin: Powered by LaunchHouse, is open at 235 Artino St. in Oberlin. The co-working space is owned and managed by Oberlin Business Partnership and will support entrepreneurs, small businesses, freelancers and remote workers in Oberlin and the surrounding Lorain County area who need flexible office space and a collaborative community.
In the planning stages for CoWork Oberlin, the Oberlin Business Partnership reached out to LaunchHouse for assistance with hiring the community manager and providing a framework for launch. CoWork Oberlin pays a revenue-dependent fee to LaunchHouse in return for the training and logistical support.
CoWork Oberlin is 4,500 square feet of work space and has both small and large private offices, an open shared work space, a dedicated alcove for quiet work, a garden cafe, a room for training and events, a small conference room and a large conference room with audiovisual conferencing equipment. The space also has access to printing, copying, mail supplies and coffee. This space also offers a lactation room, created in part with Lorain County Public Health to create a private space to support breastfeeding after a mother returns to work.
The CoWork Oberlin official opening party will be at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at the site. Interested parties can schedule a tour of the space before Nov. 8 by visiting coworkoberlin.org.
